The ingredients needed to make Tofu Tikka Masala:
  1. Make ready Marinade
  2. Prepare Greek Yogurt
  3. Make ready 1 tablespoon Fresh Lemon Juice
  4. Prepare 2 tsp Ground Cumin
  5. Make ready 2 tsp Garam Masala
  6. Prepare 2 tsp Cayenne Pepper
  7. Make ready 2 tsp Ground Black Pepper

  10. Get 1 tbsp ginger minced
  11. Get 2 Cloves garlic
  12. Get 2 block tofu (or as much as you want, you can replace it with chicken or fish or even paneers)

  14. Prepare 3 tbsp Olive Oil
  15. Get 1 large Onion
  16. Get 2 Chilli roasted with seeds. (i omitted this because i dont eat spicy 🥵)
  17. Prepare 1 tbsp ground cumin
  18. Take 2 tspn paprika
  19. Get 1 tbsp garam masala (use half if you think it's too strong)
  20. Take to taste Salt
  21. Make ready 1 tomato Canned (i used 3 tomatoes blended)
  22. Prepare 130 ml Cooking Cream

Combine the marinade ingredients in a bowl then add the tofu. The tofu preparation always comes first with this recipe. Tofu - you'll need extra firm tofu, almost all of the larger supermarkets now stock tofu. You should find it in the chilled section.

Steps to make Tofu Tikka Masala:
  1. Mix all the Marinade to the choice of your filling, i used Tofu, you may use chicken, fish or Paneer’s. Place it overnight in the fridge.
  2. You can grill the Tofu on a grill pan, you can even coat it with bread crumbs and fry them, or bake it in the oven. I heated some olive oil and tossed everything in the pan as tofu releases water i let them simmer in the pan until the water drys out. Put it aside once done.
  3. For the Sauce, heat up oil and saute the onions for 20 mins, you will get tired but this is important part of the dish, keep sauting until onions are caramelised.
  4. Add the garlic, cumin, paprika and garam masala. Fry it for a min until it releases it's flavour. Add Salt and Pepper.
  5. Now add tomatoes. Stir them all for a minute. After tomatoes have been cooked add the cooking cream. Stir occasionally.
  6. Finally add the Tofu that was set aside earlier.
  7. Serve with warm rice and enjoy the richness of the spices.

Tofu - you'll need extra firm tofu, almost all of the larger supermarkets now stock tofu. You should find it in the chilled section. Tikka Masala Paste - I use Patak's tikka masala paste (not an ad) this is the best for flavour. Our wonderful tofu tikka masala takes us back to those happy memories. You'll want to marinate the tofu for as long as possible.
