I used a cake Box as the gift box and made separators for the various foods from a cereal box. Before placing the separators, I laid American Greetings pink tissue paper on the bottom of the box. I then glued pink American Greetings tissue. Enjoy this traditional favorite julienned into a chef's salad, melted on a hot open-faced sandwich, or, of course, in a classic cheese fondue.

Instructions to make Fruit Basket Fondue:
  1. Rinse strawberries. Slice bananas. Core pear & slice into wedges. Peel & core pineapple, then cut into large chunks. Cut pound cake into bite sized chunks.
  2. Combine chocolate, whipping cream, & corn syrup in medium heavy saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring continually, just until chocolate is melted; do not boil.
  3. Add coffee, vanilla, & orange extract to chocolate mixture. Mix well.
  4. Cook chocolate mixture, stirring continually, until thickened, about 7-8 minutes. Pour into heat proof serving bowl or fondue pot. Serve with fruit & pound cake for dipping.
