  15. Take 1/2 tablespoon cumin seeds(jeera)
  16. Make ready 1/4 black mustard seed (rai)
  17. Take 1 bay leaf (Tej Patta)
  18. Get 1/2 inch Cinnamon (dalchini)
  19. Take 4 Black pepper(Kali Mirch)

  2. How to make tamarind pulp: - Take small bowl soak tamarind pod in warm water for 20 mins. After it gets soft mash it with your hand to remove it's seed and fibrous part. The soft pulp strained is tamarind pulp.
  3. Now add moong dal in pressure cooker water, salt, turmeric, bay leaf, Cinnamon, Black pepper. Pressure cook till dal gets to cook (7-8 whistles).
  4. Heat ghee in a kadhai. Once it’s hot add Cumin seeds, black mustard seed and asafetida let them splatter.
  5. After that add chopped tomato and cook until It gets soften.
  6. Now add ginger garlic paste, coriander and chopped chilli. Mix well. Cook for 1 min.
  7. Add salt, garam masala, coriander powder, red chilli powder and all powder spices and mix well. Let it cook for 1 min in medium flame.
  8. Now add boiled moong dal and tamarind pulp. cook for 10 mins.
  9. If required you can add some water but boil before you pour it.
  10. Serve it hot with plain rice or jeera rice.

It can be served with veg gravy preparations like Aloo Rassedar, Aloo Matar ki Sabzi and also pairs up nicely with Gud-Imli ki chutney.
