The ingredients needed to make Okra Sabzi:
  1. Prepare 250 gms Okras (Bhindi)
  2. Get 3-4 tbsp Oil
  3. Get 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
  4. Prepare 1/4 tsp Cumin Seeds
  5. Get 1/4 tsp Fennel Seeds
  6. Take pinch Asafoetida
  7. Get 1 Onion (Sliced)
  8. Prepare 3-4 Green Chillies (Slited)
  9. Prepare 1 Sprig Curry Leaves
  10. Get 1 small Tomato (Finely Chopped)
  11. Prepare 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  12. Prepare As per taste Salt
  13. Take 1/2 tsp Black Pepper Powder
  14. Get 1/2 tsp Cumin Powder
  15. Take 1/2 tsp Fennel Powder
  16. Take 1/2 tsp Aamchur Powder
  17. Take 1/2 tsp Garam Masala Powder

Look at this list of things found in a LadyFinger - Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Calcium, Iron, Zinc, Copper and dietary Fiber". Add half of the sugar and coconut, stir and remove from pan. Add the remaining sugar and coconut. Add the removed coconut as well.

Steps to make Okra Sabzi:
  1. Wash the okras nicely. Pat it dry with a kitchen towel. Chop out both ends. Further, chop into small pieces and set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a kadhai. When the oil is hot, add mustard seeds and allow it to crackle. Add cumin seeds and fennel seeds and asafoetida. Saute till they turn aromatic.
  3. Add green chillies and curry leaves and saute for a minute. Add the sliced onions and further saute till light golden.
  4. Add tomatoes and salt and saute till they turn soft.
  5. Add the spices ie. turmeric powder, pepper powder, cumin powder, fennel powder and aamchur powder. Saute on low flame till the spices get cooked well.
  6. Add in the okras and mix gently. Cover and cook on low flame till the okras are well cooked.
  7. Add in the garam masala powder and mix well.
  8. Finally, serve the okra sabzi with steamed rice and dal/sambar, papad, garlic chutney, sliced cucumber.

Add the remaining sugar and coconut. Add the removed coconut as well. Fry until okra is slighly browned and cooked through. Also called as okra and gumbo in the rest of the world, ladyfingers are had best when cooked fresh. Stuff with a tangy masala, deep-fry to crisp with peanuts, serve in raita or batter fry as pakoras, this finger is definitely an all-rounder!
