  6. Prepare 1/2 cup 2% milk
  7. Prepare 1 cup 4% cottage cheese
  8. Prepare 1/2 tsp salt
  9. Get 1/4 tsp pepper
  10. Get 1/3 tsp garlic powder
  11. Prepare Deep dish pie pan (this is a big pie)

Heat butter and oil in large skillet. Add spinach to onions and continue cooking for about three minutes until the water has evaporated from spinach. Season spinach with a dash of nutmeg. Spread the spinach filling evenly inside the pastry lined pie dish.

Instructions to make Spinach Pie:
  1. Cook and break apart sausage to a crumble. Drain grease and set aside over a paper towel.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat eggs. Add frozen spinach, cheese, milk, cottage cheese, salt, pepper, and garlic powder, mix together. Mix in sausage.
  3. Roll out dough slightly to cover pie pan. Place pie crust on the bottom of the pie pan. Fill with mixture. Add 2nd pie crust on top. Wrap top access top crust under bottom crust edge, pressing edges together to seal. Pinch.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 75 minutes.

Season spinach with a dash of nutmeg. Spread the spinach filling evenly inside the pastry lined pie dish. Fold the corners of the pastry back over top of the filling. It's okay if they do not fully reach to meet each other. If desired, brush a whisked egg over the top (this will give the surface a glossy appearance after cooking).
