- Take 2 cups suji
- Take 2 cups curd

- Take 2 tsp sambar masala
- Make ready Pinch hing
- Take few curry leaves
- Prepare 1 small ball Tamarind soaked in water
- Make ready 1/2 tsp Fenugreek seed
- Make ready For chutney–
- Take 3 tbsp soaked chana dal
- Make ready 1 tsp peanut
- Make ready 3 tbsp curd
- Get 1/2 raw Coconut
- Prepare 2 green chillies
- Prepare 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
- Prepare 1 whole red chilli
- Take 1/2 tsp urad dal
- Get as per taste Salt
Idli can be prepared from either plain rice or rice rava (aka Idli Rava or Cream of Rice), urad dal and fenugreek seeds. This recipe uses Rice Rava instead of Plain Rice to give it a grainier texture and Poha to make them extra soft. The addition is simple spices like ginger and curry leaves, makes this dish bring out the flavors of the steamed rava idli. Rava idli is a variation of the popular South Indian breakfast item.
Instructions to make Rava Idli:
- In a bowl mix suji curd and salt. Add one cup of water. Rest it for half an hour.
- After half an hour if the batter looks dry add half cup of water. Mix properly. The batter should be flowing consistency.
- Now grease idly mould with oil. Add two tsp of Eno in the batter. Mix well the immediately start filling the mould with batter.
- Heat water in idly cooker. Place the idly stand in the cooker. Steam for ten minutes.
- In microwave, the idlies are made in 4-5 minutes. The soft fluffy idlies are ready to serve. It can be served with sambar and chutney.
- For sambar–
- In a karahi heat oil add mustard seed Fenugreek seed and whole red chilli. After few second add hing in it.
- Now add chopped onion and saute. When it is translucent in colour add tomatoes salt and turmeric powder. When tomatoes are soft add vegetables. Fry it add sambar masala and water. Boil vegetables.
- When veggies are cooked add boiled dal. Boil sambar for 3-4 minutes. Add tamarind water in the sambar.
- For chutney–
- Take all the ingredients in a blender and grind it with water. It should have a thick consistency.
- Now take a tarka pan heat two tsp of oil add mustard seed curry leaves, urad dal and whole red chilli. Fry it and pour on the chutney.
